The Coventry Police Department is no longer accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officers. The deadline for applications was August 12, 2011 @4:30pm. Construction on RT3 to begin June 27, 2011

Some minor construction activity has been completed, and we now expect more regular daily (daytime) work to begin 6/27 on Sandy Bottom Road. D'Ambra Construction will be installing approx 300 feet of a new water main lines followed by new drainage lines and structures. The drainage lines and structures will be installed next to this new water main line.

The work area is mostly in the shoulder area, and no trenches will be left open each night. Work in this area will take several weeks. D'Ambra will also be saw cutting along the concrete curbing on Route 3 for future replacement.

Construction crews are slowly making progress to complete utility work near the Stop and Shop lights. National Grid Electric should be done transferring wires by 6/25. Cox and Verizon should follow soon after. We have already set up traffic controls for some work and with the help of police details. .  

Nat Grid Gas will then follow to replace some of their main between Lionel Ave and Coventry Drive ( apprx 500 feet) and just east of Coventry Drive (approx another 400 feet). This may take about a week.
