A Message from Chief Ronald E. DaSilva
Thank You for taking the time to explore the Coventry Police Department website. As the Department's Chief of Police, I thought this a perfect opportunity to share with you a bit about myself and my vision for the police department. Law enforcement is a true and noble profession. I could not have chosen a better career path or a better place to work and raise my family than the Town of Coventry.
In the fall of 1988, I began my career as a patrol officer for the Town of Coventry. After six years in uniform I was tranferred to the Detective Division as a Crime Scene Investigator. I then had the privilege of returning to the patrol division holding the rank of Sergeant and Lieutenant. On February 1st, 2008 I was appointed as the Chief of Police, a life long dream come true.
As the Chief of Police it is my goal to have a police department that is involved with the community and to serve a community that is involved with its police department. The members of the Coventry Police Department are here to serve those who live, work or visit this great community. As the sign on the Greenway Trestle Bridge states, "Coventry, It Grows With You", this has never been a truer statement.
