Chief Benjamin H. Witt was appointed to Coventry Police Department in March 2003.
Chief Witt holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Hesser College in 1995, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University in 2015 and will complete his Master’s Degree from Roger Williams University in 2026.
The Chief attended the Leagues of Cities and Towns - Municipal Leadership Academy and received certifications in Executive Leadership Level Management, as well as FBI LEEDA. He also holds certifications in First Line and Mid-Level Patrol Supervision, Rescue Task Force, Speed Management, Accreditation Manager, SWAT Command Decision-Making and Leadership, Public Information Officer, Policy Writing, and Internal Affairs Investigations, amongst others.
Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of assignments including Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Patrol Captain, and Administrative Captain before being promoted to Chief of Police.

Deputy Chief Kenneth D. Gebo joined the Coventry Police Department in August 2005.
Deputy Chief Gebo holds a Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University in 2011.
Deputy Chief Gebo has attended the Leagues of Cities and Towns – Municipal Leadership Academy, and received certifications in Executive Leadership Level Management. He also hold certifications in First Line and Mid-Level Patrol Supervision, Collision Reconstruction, Crime Scene Investigations, Public Information Officer, and Internal Affairs Investigations, amongst others

Detective Captain Ryan D. DeSisto joined the Coventry Police Department in March 2008.
Detective Captain DeSisto holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Rhode Island College in 2007 as well as Master’s Degree in Homeland Security and Digital Forensics from Salve Regina University in 2021.
Detective Captain DeSisto has attended and received certificates in Executive Leadership Level Management, Mid-Level and First-Line Patrol Supervision courses. He also holds certifications in SWAT Command Decision-Making and Leadership, Firearms Instructor and Armorer, Crime Scene Investigations, DEA School, Public Information Officer, Digital Forensics, and Internal Affairs Investigations, amongst others.
Throughout his career, he has served as a detective in the Detective Division’s Bureau of Criminal Identification Unit, a Patrol Sergeant, the Detective Sergeant of the Special Operations Unit, a Lieutenant in both Patrol and Detectives, and as a Patrol Division Commander. Det. Capt. DeSisto is also the SWAT Team Commander for the West Warwick/Coventry Regional SWAT Team.
Detective Captain DeSisto currently serves as Detective Division Commander, responsible for overseeing the operations of the Prosecution Unit, Special Operations Unit, Special Victims Unit, and the Bureau of Criminal Identification Unit.

Captain Alexander B. DeMolles joined the Coventry Police Department in March 2007.
Captain DeMolles holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2004, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Rhode Island in 2006, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a certificate in Police Leadership from Salve Regina University in 2018.
Captain DeMolles has attended and received certificates in Mid-Level and First-Line Patrol Supervision courses. He also holds certifications in Collision Reconstruction, Digital Forensics, and Internal Affairs Investigations, SWAT Sniper, FAA Drone Pilot, amongst others
Throughout his career, Captain DeMolles has served as a Patrol Supervisor, Detective Supervisor overseeing the Special Operations Unit, Patrol Lieutenant, and Accreditation Lieutenant.
Captain DeMolles currently oversees the Administrative Division, managing the department’s successful RIPAC re-accreditation, hiring process, APRA, BWC Program, and civilian support staff.

Captain Keith M. Clarke joined the Coventry Police Department in March 2002.
Captain Clarke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, with minors in Psychology and Sociology, from American International College in 1995.
Captain Clarke has attended and received certificates in Mid-Level and First-Line Patrol Supervision courses. He also holds certifications in Crime Scene Investigations, Arson Investigations, Public Information Officer, and Internal Affairs Investigations, amongst others
During his career with the department, he has served a detective in Detective Division, a Patrol Sergeant, a Patrol Lieutenant, and the Detective Lieutenant overseeing the Special Operations Unit.
Captain Clarke currently serves as the Patrol Division Commander, overseeing the operations of the Patrol Division, Animal Control Division, School Resource Officers, and the Crossing Guard Unit.
